PHS Art Teacher David Magee Sells Picture Perfect Super Bowl Moment to Saints Quarterback Drew Brees

Pascagoula High School art teacher David Magee’s painting of New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees holding his infant son after his team’s Super Bowl victory will now grace the football star’s home.

A Saints fan, Magee captured the magic moment after watching the Saints Super Bowl victory. He took the painting to Edgewater Mall this past weekend where Brees was signing autographs for $150 to benefit his Brees Dream Foundation. But Magee got far more than he ever dreamed, when Brees purchased the painting for his son. Magee also received some other autographed items and home football tickets as well.

But the recognition hasn’t stopped for Magee. After seeing the story penned by Colmer Middle School teacher Susan Stachowski in The Mississippi Press, CNN and WWL Radio in New Orleans have picked up the story and photo. Since The Mississippi Press has also sent the story out across the Associated Press wire, more media outlets across the nation could also pick up Magee’s story.
