Trent Lott Academy's John DeVito Attends World Leadership Forum

Pascagoula student, John DeVito, a sixth grader at Trent Lott Academy, recently returned from Washington, D.C., where he attended a People to People World Leadership Forum.

DeVito, along with fellow delegates from all over the world, participated in leadership training activities including trips to such places as the Library of Congress where he met with a member of Congress. Throughout the course of the program in Washington, DeVito learned about leadership and how great leaders throughout history have handled world events. Various hands-on activities, professional speakers, workshops, and visits to significant memorials, museums, and monuments gave DeVito a new perspective on the importance and essential need for informed, passionate world leaders.

While in Washington, DeVito formed many lasting friendships with other Student Leaders from around the world. Participants in these programs often experience life-changing shifts in their attitudes toward individual and shared responsibilities, global leadership, and appreciation of cultural diversity, while they also return home with enhanced skills and self-confidence.

DeVito is the son of Richard and Lanace Davis and John DeVito.
